MUZAFFARGARH: A child was mauled and killed by a street dog in the Langar Sarai locality of Muzaffargarh on Wednesday outside his home.
Eight-year-old Noman was out on the street to run errands when the dog attacked him and left deep wounds on his head and face. Locals shifted him to the local basic health unit, where he was received dead.
Deputy Commissioner Ali Annan Qamar said that he made a team to probe the incident. He said that he recommended financial assistance for the deceased boy`s f amily.
Health Chief Executive Of ficer Dr Fiaz and his team visited the family. The incident forced the districtadministration to launch a kill-dog campaign in Muzaf fargarh tehsil.
Sources said the special branch had reported the presence of street dogs at Langer Sarai and others areas of Muzaffargarh.
South Punjab Additional Chief Secretary Saqib Zaffer also sought a report into the incident.
UREA BAGS SEIZED: More than 2,000 bags of urea fertiliser were seized during a raid here on Wednesday.
Alipur Assistant Commissioner Ahsan Mubeen received information that more than 2,000 bags of urea were lying in a house.
A joint team of police and agriculture department officials conducted a raid, seized the urea bags and got a case registered against the dealer.
