TOBA TEK SINGH: A kidney patient allegedly committed suicide on Wednesday by jumping from the first floor of Faisalabad DHQ hospital.

Tariq Aziz (48) of Dogar Basti, Faisalabad, was admitted to the hospital and his dialysis was done at 2am. When his family members were taking breakfast on the ground floor, Tariq went to the first floor through the hospital lift and jumped down as a result he suffered critical injuries and succumbed to his wounds in emergency ward.

Faisalabad Deputy Commissioner retired Lt Sohail Ashraf reached the hospital and ordered an inquiry into the incident.

When contacted, hospitalMedicalSuperintendent Dr Asif Hameed Saleemi claimed that Tariq had been getting dialysis facility from the hospital for the last 18 months.

His f amily members said the deceasedwas depressed and he also injured himselfby hitting his head with the wall at home.

GIR L RAPED: A prayer leader allegedly raped a daughter of a farmer at Chak 98 JB, Gojra, on Wednesday.

According to Gojra city police, Qari Saif took the girl to a room adjacent to the mosque when she was passing through the street and allegedly raped her.

Villagers rushed to the spot when the girl raised an alarm and handed him over to police.

DEATH SENTENCE: Jhang`s Shorkot tehsil additional district and sessions judge Ijaz Ahmad Sheikh handed down on Wednesday death sentence to a man on the charge of killing a female schoolteacher.

The court also ordered the convict to pay Rs200,000 fine to the heirs of the deceased as compensation.

Convict Zeshan Haider of Kot Bharwana had shot dead government girls high school teacher Sidra Batool after she rejected his marriage proposal on April 8, 2021 at Shorkot.
