Malik had another busy day today [May 30].

In the morning, they visited three villages, a few miles from Dacca... . The Ministers went around the villages and enquired ... about the relations between the Muslims and Hindus there. There were told that in these villages some Hindu families have returned to their original homes. Many instances were also brought to the notice of the Ministers of Muslims offering protection to the Hindus. In one case, a local postmaster, who is himself a Muslim emigrant from Bihar, gave shelter to about five Hindus during the recent disturbances. Mr Malik warned the local Muslims that the Government would take immediate action against mischief mongers and evil doers.

In the afternoon, the Ministers addressed a representative gathering of Hindus and Muslims of Dacca... . Mr C.C. Biswas called upon the people to realise the spirit behind the Delhi Agreement and said it was essential that the utmost cordiality and friendly relations should subsist... . News agencies
