THE decision by the United States to block the enrolment of foreign students by Harvard University, which is counted among the best universities, projecting liberal values and academic excellence, is condemnable. More than one-fifth of the university`s foreign students are Chinese, which is one reason why Donald Trump has fallen afoul of the university.
The other reason of Trump`s annoyance is that Harvard is a hotbed of liberal policy that is not liked by Israel. The decision has been challenged in the court and all liberal and democratic academics of the world strongly hope that Harvard will maintain its academic freedom.
