KARACHl: A seminary student was run over and killed by a fast-moving water tanker in the SITE area on Tuesday, police said.

Area SHO Imran Afridi told Dawn that 19-year-old Amir Mowavia was on his way to Jamia Binoria Aalamia in SITE on his motorcycle when a recklessly driven water tanker hit him.

He said that he fell from the bike and the tanker ran him over. He suffered critical injuries and was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he died during treatment. The officer said that driver Syed Faraz was arrested and the heavy vehicle impounded. -Staff Reporter
