LAHORE: Jamaat-i-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq has said that if Nawaz government and its ministers cannot plead the just cause of Kashmiris they should at least refrain from “stabbing” them in the back by speaking New Delhi’s mind.
He was quoted as speaking at a meeting of the JI media committee here on Monday.
The JI chief said that the federal ministers should be mindful of their high status and should not utter anything as was in conflict with Islam and the country’s ideology. He lamented that the federal information minister’s remarks at a Kashmir seminar appeared to be the statement of an Indian minister.
He said it was a tragedy that the slaves of the British and those propagating secularism and liberalism were trying to undermine the ideological foundations of the country created in the name of Islam.
Mr Haq impressed upon the media committee members to coordinate their strategy for the defence of the country’s ideological boundaries and for the rebuttal of secularism and liberalism.
