PESHAWAR: The Board of Governors of the Medical Teaching Institute, Khyber Teaching Hospital, has approved promotions of faculty members.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the BoG presided over by its chairman Dr Faisal Sultan, according to a press release issued here on Monday.

Associate professors Hamza Khan and Zakirullah were promoted as professors of medicines and ENT, respectively, at the Khyber Medical CoIIege.

Dr Mohammad Zahid, Dr Naila Nawab and Dr Zahid Shah of anatomy, physiology and Islamic studies departments of KMC, and Dr Muslim Khan and Dr Akbar Khalil of the Khyber College of Dentistry were promoted as associate professors.

The promotions took place upon the recommendations of the recruitment and promotion committee.

The meeting promoted Dr Kalsoom Nawab, Dr Inamullah and Dr Neelam Noreen to the post of assistant professors in radiology, medicine and anesthesia departments, respectively.

The BoG also appointed Rahmat Ullah, with PhD in nursing from the US, as nursing director.
