Girls clinch top three positions in BA, BSc exams of BZU

MULTAN: The top positions in Bahauddin Zakariya University`s (BZU) annual BA/BSc examination 2018 were announced here on Wednesday.
According to the results, girls grabbed the top three positions in both BA and BSc exams.
In Bachelor of Arts (BA), Shaher Bano Shaukat of Government College for Women Mirah, Layyah bagged the first position by securing 629 marks, while Hafsa Akbar of Govt College for Women Chowk Sarwar Shaheed stood second with 623 marks and Ayesha Siddigafrom a private college clinched the third position by scoring 620 marks. Maria Jamil of Govt College for Women Shehr Sultan, the daughter of a motorcycle-rickshaw diver, grabbed the fourth position.
In the BSc exam, first three positions were clinched by girls from two private colleges. Hira Wajid, the daughter of a crockery seller, bagged the hrst position by securing 727 marks. Anmol Munir, whose father is a carpenter, stood second with 718 marks and Nalain Sukaina third with 706 marks.
Muhammad Yousuf, the son of avegetable vendor, stood fourth by securing 698 marks.
According to the gazette notification, 49,433 candidates sat the BA/BSc exam out of whom 18,158 were declared successful with the pass percentage being 36.73 per cent.
Addressing the result declaration ceremony, BZU Acting Vice Chancellor Dr Bashir Chaudhry congratulated the position holders, their parents and teachers. He also distributed cash prizes among the three top position-holders in science and arts groups. APP
