ACE arrests arts council official

GUJRANWALA: The A n t i C o r r u p t i o n Establishment (ACE) arrested on Wednesday the arts council assistant director while receiving bribe.
ACE Regional Director Fareed Ahmad told reporters that Allah Rakha, of Chanda Qila, submitted he wanted to get the auditorium of the arts council booked for a function but assistant director Haleem Khan delayed it for three weeks. Later, he demanded Rs5,000 for the approval of the booking.
Also, Qila DeedarSingh police registered cases against three subinspectors (SIs) and six ASIs for negligence and poor performance.
Station House Officer Adnan Ejaz had directed the investigation officers to settle pending cases in 14 days but SIs Bilal Farooq, Waqas Akbar and Muhammad Yaqoob and ASIs Ilyas, Arif, Asif, Yousaf, Naeem Sardar and Rafique did not follow the orders.
