LAHORE: Two men allegedly involved in the gang rape of a woman in front of her husband in Chuhng area were killed in an ‘encounter’ with the Crime Control Department (CCD) policehere on Friday, while their as many accomplices managed to flee.
As per police, the suspects had allegedly subjected a married woman to gang rape and also recorded a video of the episode.
A spokesperson for the CCD said that the police traced the location of the four suspects within a short span of 12 hours and conducted a raid on a place for their arrest.
He said that on seeing the police, the armed suspects opened fire on the CCD team to evade arrest, which was returned in self-defence. A personnel also got injured in the exchange of fire, he added.
He said during the crossfire, two of the suspects were killed while their accomplices fled. The suspects had made a video clip of the sexual assault on the woman in the presence of her husband.
A case of gang rape was registered at Chuhng police station, he said, adding that the search for the two fleeing suspects was underway. — Staff Reporter
