2.5MW project inaugurated

MARDAN: A power project of 2.5 megawatt was inaugurated at Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan, which would be completed in next seven months with a total cost of Rs320 million.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Ihsan Ali inaugurated the project during a ceremony held here on Tuesday. Before the ceremony, a meeting was chaired by Prof Ihsan Ali and attended by officials concerned. Several suggestions regarding the project were discussed.

Contractor of the project, chief executive of Tie Group, Mohammad Imran, said on the occasion that the project would be completed by March 2016 and it would be ready to generate electricity with the help of gas, coal and wastes. He disclosed that this was the first project of its type in any university of Pakistan. He claimed that the Tie Group had so far completed up to 24MW power projects in different other sectors of the country, generating electricity for different purposes.
