TCKP to get hold of 13 more rest houses

PESHAWAR: The provincial government will soon hand over 13 more rest houses to the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP).
Briefing journalists during a trip to Nathiagali, TCKP general manager (administration and properties) Sajjad Hameed said feedback from visitors and tourists was very encouraging.
The tour was arranged for journalists from Peshawar, Haripur and Abbottabad districts to Nathiagali for a briefing on the 11 rest houses handed over to the TCKP by the government last month.
Sajjad Hameed said the transfer of rest houses would take place in three phases.
`In the first phase, 13 rest houses have already been transferred to TCKP, while the remaining 13 will be handed over to it in the second,` he said.
The TCKP official said resthouses to be transferred to the corporation included Fan House, Hamala House/ Speaker House, C&W Rest House Murree, Inspection Bungalow, Blue Pine Cottage, Shimla House and Dak Bungalow in Nathiagali, KPHAHouseinChanglagali, Kalapani in Thandiyani, Dagree Inspection Hut, Birangali Rest House on Thandiyani Track, Changlagali Rest House and GDA Rest House in Khanaspur.
He said the rest houses in Naran, Kalam, Swat and other tourists spots would be transferred to the TCKP in the last phase.
Sajjad Hameed informed visitors about the accommodation capacity of rest houses, including Secretariat Cottage, Pines Rest House, Raees Khana, Retreat House, Additional Cottage, Vindiya Cottage, Forest Rest House in Nathiagali and Forest Rest House in Dungagali.
He said the Retreat Rest House was the most expensive facility and Raees Khana the most cost-effective.
