Doctors thrashed as patient dies of `wrong injection`

F A I S A L A B A D : Enraged family members of a patient who died at the Allied Hospital smashed windowpanes of the coronary care unit and thrashed doctors on Thursday.

Akhtar Ali, 35, was brought to the coronary ward and his family alleged that a wrong injection administered by the staff on the advice of duty doctors causedhis death.

The family members and neighbours thrashed some doctors, ransackedthe ward property and smashed its windowpanes.

The ward became a battlefield as some of the staff also reacted.

The family members also staged a protest demonstration and chanted slogans against the hospital administration.

Talking to reporters, protesters alleged that doctors administered a wrong injection to Ali that worsened his condition.

The police rushed to the spot, pacified protesters and assured them that action would be taken against those responsible for the death.
