Waste of sacrificial animals still lying along roads, streets

JHANG: Disgusting odor, stench and unpleasant sight of waste material of sacrificial animals still lying on streets and roads of various localities even a weel< after Eidul Azha have become a nuisance for the residents.
Roads and streets are strewn with offal and other wastes of sacrificial animals in the localities like Station Chowk, Church Chowk, Ayub Chowk, Sessions Chowk, Bulak Shah, Satellite Town, College Road, Rana Colony, Haideri Mohallah, Sultanwala, Dhaji Road and Toba Road.
Only a few containers placed by the TMA in low-income residentialareas are full of animal wastes which have started omitting unbearable stench.
While wastes of sacrificial animals dumped in containers of posh areas and close to residences of top government officers had been removed immediately on the special instructions of the authorities concerned.
Residents of the affected areas complain that TMA officials only obey the orders of bigwigs and hardly bother to address complaints of the common man.
TMA sources said huge funds were got released for the purchase of diesel and other necessities required for the cleanliness on the eve of Eidul Azha, but most of the diesel was allegedly utilised for vehicles of dis-trict administration officials, their friends and for their generators.
On the other hand, TMA Chief Officer Mukhtar Shah claimed that the given target was achieved successfully due to dutiful officials and sanitary workers.
He said the sanitary staff had accomplished their mission of keeping the city clean by removing offal and other waste material of sacrificial animals.
The chief officer had no answer when he was told that citizens were complaining that waste material of sacrificial animals was still lying unattended and diesel was misused by TMA officials.
