Court orders confiscation of properties of PTI`s three former lawmakers

TOBA TEK SINGH: Faisalabad Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Muhammad Hussain on Wednesday ordered confiscation of the properties belonging to three former Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) assembly members.

The action was taken after they failed to appear before the court in an under-trial section 7-ATA case.

The case was registered against them for their involvement in the riots that occurred on May 9. The people involvedare former MNA Faizullah Kamoka, his brother Kaleemullah Kamoka, and former MPAs Asad Muazzam and Habgoog Maseeh Gill. The court has declared them proclaimed offenders. Faizullah Kamoka had announced his departure from PTI three months ago.

SUICIDE: A teenage boy took his own life in Gojra on Wednesday.

According to the Gojra City police, Arham Javed had a quarrel with his father, Javed Iqbal, of the Green Town locality, over a monetary issue. He hanged himself from a ceilingfan in a room at his residence.

In another incident in Chak 338-JB, a youth allegedly raped a girl.

The complainant stated in her FIR, registered under section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code, that her daughter was alone when the suspect forced entry into her house, accompanied by an unidentified accomplice.

She said the accomplice stood guard outside a room while the suspect raped her and fled.

The police said they were conducting raids to arrest the suspects.

MOU: A memorandum ofunderstanding (MoU) has been signed between the Punjab Council of Arts and a private university.

The MoU outlines their cooperation for the promotion of art and culture, particularly in the domains of art, craft, creative literature, theatre, music, drama, and other related areas.

The collaboration will be done in the form of various events, ideas, research articles, and internship opportunities for students. It also includes their joint efforts in organizing cultural events.

ACCIDENT: An underagemotorcyclist and his sister died while another sister sustained injuries in a motorcycle-bus collision on Wednesday at Faisalabad on Samundri Road near the Wapda grid station.

Rescue 1122 said Zahid, a resident of Rasoolpura locality, was riding the motorcycle with his two sisters to drop them off at school when the bus collided with the motorcycle, leaving all three injured.

Zahid died on the spot, while his sisters, Laiba Falak and Tayyaba Falak, were rushed to the DHQ hospital where Laiba also succumbed to her injuries.
