Action against DSP sought

2014-12-02
PESHAWAR: Nasir Ali, a citizen of Saidu Sharif area, on Monday sought action against DSP Swat Mubarak Khan for trying to hush up the killing of his police constable brother, Afsar Ali.

He told a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club that his brother was part of the anti-terrorist squad but DSP (headquarters) Swat Mubarak Khan had unofficially posted him as gunner of a private contractor in Kalam.

`Unidentified terrorists killed my brother during his duty in Kalam on July 7, 2014.

However, in the FIR, the SHO of Kalam police station in connivance with the DSP didn`t mention that my brother was a policeman and that he was killed in the line of duty. Instead, he was falsely shown as a tourist, who died in a roadside accident,` he said.

The citizen said his brother had served the private contractor as gunner for 80 days and many people of the local residents knew about it. He said the false cause of his brother`s death was shown in the FIR to hush up the matter to save the skin of the relevant DSP and SHO.

Nasir Ali said the provincial police chief should act against the two police officers for registration of a wrong FIR and get the FIR corrected for entitlement of his family to the Shuhada Package. Bureau Report
