CHINIOT: The district coordination officer (DCO) has ordered a probe into the death of a woman at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.
The wife of Mujahid Ali felt pain in the abdomen on Monday and went to the DHQ for treatment.
Mujahid, a journalist with a TV channel, says doctors said she was carrying a dead fetus. She was admitted to the hospital where she remained unattended for 18 hours, and consequently died late on Tuesday.
A number of journalists protested at the alleged negligence of the hospital administration after funeral prayers at the Mianwali graveyard.
The probe committee consists of District Officer of Health Dr Mushtaq Bashir and District MCH Coordinator Dr Munir Ahmad.
Dr Arshad Mahboob, additional charge holder of the DHQ Hospital medical superintendent, said there had been no negligence by doctors or paramedics in the treatment of the woman.
A lady doctor and paramedics were available at the hospital and the patient was given full treatment. She died of some complications, he said.
