HYDERABAD: The FIA Hyderabad on Saturday arrested a man, who appeared to be an officer of the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco), on a writ petition referred to it by a woman through the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit.

The woman has accused the officer of constantly blackmailing her.

The woman claimed that she was trapped by the officer by offering help in getting a job in the power utility. Mother of four, the woman claimed that she was subjected to criminal assault at gunpoint by the of ficer, who also filmed the episode with his mobile phone. Since then, she added, she had repeatedly been subjected to criminal assaults by him. She said he kept threatening her that the videos would be uploaded on the social media and sent to her husband and other f amily members if she did not continue to `oblige` him.

The women said that the officer recently moved to a house opposite her`s and demanded full liberty to move into her house.

The FIA raided the officer`s house, located in Qasimabad, and arrested him under the relevant sections of the cybercrime laws.

FIA sources said that a USB containing the woman`s explicit pictures and videos was seized from him. His personal computer and mobile phone were also taken into custody for a forensic investigation, they said.

The sources said that the suspect had been using more than 13 mobile SIMs and their data was being obtained.-Staff Correspondent
