BADIN: Two persons were killed and 35 others injured when a vehicle carrying them back to their village, Loniyat, from Shaheed Fazil Rahu (formerly Golarchi) town overturned near Fatehabad bus stop along the Badin-Karachi section of National Highway on Saturday evening.

The victims belonged to the Bheel community and had been staying in the town for about two months for livelihood during the rice-harvesting season.

The deceased were identified as Bhanji Bheel, 25, and Sawan Bheel, 40. The injured were taken to the Indus (civil) Hospital in Badin for treatment.

Six of them were referred to a Hyderabad hospital due to their serious condition.
