Writer praised for work on mystic poetry of Bhitai, Bhagat

HYDERABAD: Speakers paid tribute to noted writer, linguist and poet Noor Ahmed Janjhi for his work on Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai and Kabir Bhagat`s mysticism and spirituality at the launch of his two books Adhai akhar ishq ja and Door thahain dus held at a local hotel on Friday evening.
Prof Qalandar Shah Lakyari said that Janjhi`s father Ghulam Mohammad Janjhi was also a poet and researcher of high calibre, whichmusthavebeenagreatinspiration for Janjhi and helped instil in him love of knowledge. Janjhihad written extensively on Bhitai and Bhagat, he said.
Gul Mohammad Umrani said that Janjhi was a prolific writer who had produced quality work.
He had also served as an officer and brought good name to of ficers` community with his vast knowledge and writing skills, he said.
He said that Janjhi had explained mysticism for layman; he had a multidimensional, amiable and environment-friendly personality.
Dr Fayaz Latif said that Janjhi was an inspiration to others and a catalyst for new thinking in society. His books helped readers understand Bhitai whom he had analysed through 27 subjects, hesaid. He said that there was still need for serious work on Bhitai`s poetry which had not been undertaken yet. Janjhi`s book would help understand the Sufi saint`s poetry, he said.
Writer Shabnam Gul observed that Janjhi had shown consistency in his writing. Both of his books were important for understanding Bhitai and Bhagat, she said.
The author expressed gratitude to all the speakers for praising his work and said that there was dire need to write on poetry instead of writing a poet`s profile.
He always took solace in writing about those who had written on people instead of kings, he said.
