DERA MURAD JAMALI: Nine people were injured in two landmine blasts targeting a passenger bus and a tractor trolley in the Chattar area of Nasirabad district on Monday.

According to police officials, five people were injured when the tractor trolley hit a landmine in the Goth Essa Khan area. They were going to Dera Murad Jamali.Police and personnel of the Frontier Corps reached the area immediately after the blast and took all the injured to the Dera Murad Jamali district hospital.

Three injured people were later referred to Jacobabad in view of the serious nature of their injuries.

The second landmine blast rocked the Chattar area when a passenger bus was coming to Dera Murad Jamali.

After the blast, some unidentifiedarmed men also opened indiscriminate hre on the bus, but police personnel guarding the bus returned fire, forcing the attackers to escape.

`Four people travelling in the bus suffered injuries due to the landmine blast,` Sharjeel Kharal, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Nasirabad Range, told Dawn, adding that the attackers wanted to target the passengers after the landmine blast, but police had foiled their attempt.
