CALCUTTA: Commenting on Mr. Jinnah`s proposal for a united front, Mr. Arthur Moore in a statement says: `Easily the most important Indian political event on Monday was Mr. Jinnah`s speech at Bombay containing a straight of fer to Congress.

`Why not,` Mr. Moore asked, `disarm the British Government of the weapon which they advance both at home and abroad? Tell them we are agreed, therefore let them hand over the power. Then will be our time for a struggle which will be of one voice under one authority and the united command of all the people of this country. Why not create that situation? `It is painful to note that not a word of this vitally important speech appeared in the leading Hindu-owned newspapers in English of Calcutta this morning. And probably the same thing is true ofothercentres.`SurelyHindusandCongressmen must realise how this unfairness strengthens the case for Pakistan and the unfortunate impression it must create on foreign representatives and journalists.

`I appeal to the Hindu press in their own interest not to keep their readers in the dark, and to give Mr. Jinnah`s pronouncements the importance they should have`. Dawn Delhi
