WITH reference to your editorial on the NFC award (Jan 27), I wish to point out a slight error. The federal government is asking for a seven per cent share from the gross divisible pool, and not from the federal divisible pool.
As per this demand, they would take 7pc upfront from the gross divisible pool. Then the federal government will take its share, say 42.5pc of the amount remaining.
Thereaf ter what will be lef t will constitute the federal divisible pool, which will be distributed among the four provinces.
