VIOLENCE, honour killing, unemployment and the absence of healthcare have become norms in Sindh. The tall claims of the Pakistan People`s Party have f ailed to change the f ate of the Sindhi people. The people have lost trust in the PPP. The elections they win are not due to their performance and development works but due to feudal lords who are in the party.
The youth of Sindh is in a state of despair and despondency. For a decade, hardly any recruitment has been made on merit. Also, rural areas are backward in terms of basic f acilities like infrastructure, health and education.
Indeed, a political base cannot last long, if it is based on tall claims and betrayal of public trust. It is time the PPP stopped ignoring the Sindhi people. Long, durable and sustainable growth and political stability could only be achieved if the government addressed core social and economic issues.
