KARACHl: Unknown thieves looted a boutique in the Defence area on Friday, police said.

Complainant Irshad Mehmood Siddiqi lodged an FIR with the Gizri police station, stating that his daughter, Maha Shaikh, had inaugurated her boutique on Khayaban-iIttehad on Thursday.

He said that the shop was shuttered at around 11:30pm and when it was opened on Friday morning at around 10:30am, the locks were found broken and all bridal wears and other valuables had been taken away.

He said the value of the stolen goods was estimated at Rs11.5 million.

Based on the CCTV footage of the incident, DIG-South Syed Asad Raza said four men, wearing masks, arrived at the boutique in a black car and committed the burglary.

`It looks like an inside job,` the DIG said, adding: `We are utilising all technical resources to trace the culprits.
