Bhutto, said here today [March 2] that at the Indo-Pakistan Ministerial meeting the only subject which was essentially discussed was the Kashmir dispute, and no other issue came up for any serious discussion.

Addressing a late night crowded Press conference two hours after the conclusion of the twoday Ministerial talks, Mr Bhutto said Pakistan was willing to discuss other issues as well simultaneously, `provided there was not only a meaningful discussion on Kashmir but a visible movement towards solution also` He added that Pakistan wanted to establish peaceful and friendly relations with India as with other neighbours. But, he pointed out, it was imperative to remove the causes of conflict and animosity.

Mr Bhutto said the fact remained that the basic issue was the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

The people of Kashmir, he said, `are our kith and kin and it is our duty to support them. We can never abandon them`.

About the Ministerial meeting, Mr Bhutto said `I believe as a first meeting, we have been able to focus on the main issues`. Correspondent [Agencies add,] Mr Bhutto said that the Ministerial conference had pin-pointed the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and the joint communiqué clearly stated that it should be resolved to promote and strengthen peace between the two countries.

Mr Bhutto said that Sardar Swaran Singh, the Indian Foreign Minister, had also highlighted the need for the settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

The Foreign Minister said that the bilateral conference had been `productive` and highlighted the basic cause of tension and dispute between the two countries, namely the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, and had recognised it.
