In general, the Indian public has accepted the abstract concept that a spirit of religious hatred rather than a single individual, was responsible for Mr Gandhi`s death. For Westerners, to whom Klieg lights and ballyhoo are the inevitable handmaidens of murder, the ease of this acceptance by India seems phenomenal.
