BAHAWALPUR: A division bench of the Lahore High Court, Bahawalpur bench, has acquitted former member national assembly of Pakistan People`s Party (PPP) Sardar Aamir Yar Warren who was disqualified in a bogus degree casein 2013.
The bench comprised Mr Justice Izharul Haque Pannu and Mr Justice Amjad Rafique.
Hailing from Uch Sharif, Warren is now in Pakistan Tehreek-iInsaf. The case against him was instituted in 2010.
MARYAM: An application has been submitted to the Baghdadul Jadid police station against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz for the registration of a case against her.
In his application, citizen Khurram Khan claimed that in her address in Sargodha, the PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz had allegedlycommitted contempt of court by uttering words against judges of the apex court.
A police official said the application had been forwarded to police legal branch for legal opinion.
D E V E L OP ME N T FUNDS: The South Punjab Secretariat in Bahawalpur and Multan has so far utilized a sum of Rs 101 billion out of the Punjab government`s total allocation of Rs 126 billion for the current financial year`s development .This utilization comes to about 80 per cent.
This was stated by S outh Punjab Additional Chief Secretary Saqib Zafar here on Thursday.
According to an official handout, Mr Zafar, while presiding over a high-level meeting of South Punjab administrative secretaries here, attributed the funds` rapid utilization to the establishment of South Punjab secretariat in Multan and Bahawalpur and its proper and round-theclock supervision.
