LAHORE: Multan Commissioner Amir Khattak was chastised on social media when a social media page posted images of his birthday festivities, which he probably celebrated during business hours on February 28.

Division deputy commissioners and other subordinates attended the gathering.

The Facebook page titled `Multan Commissioner` uploaded pictures of the commissioner cutting the cake with the comment, `Commissioner Multan Division Engr Amir Khatak celebrated his birthday along with his officers and staff.

Lodhran Deputy Commissioner (DC) Syed Mashad Raza Kazmi, Vehari DC Syed Asif Husain Shah, Khanewal DC Waseem Hamid Sindhu, Additional Commissioners Sarfraz Ahmad, Abdul Jabbar, Arshad Gopang, Director of Development Robina Kausar, Deputy Director of Information Iram Saleemi, Assistant Commissioner Iram Shehzadi, Law Officer Rana Shahid, PS Shahid Mahmood, PA Afzaal Mahmood, Sardar Ahmad, AD Mahar, and other staff members are also present in the picture.

Several netizens criticized the commissioner onsocial media.

`This is Commissioner Multan Amir Khattak along with his team. This man was celebrating his birthday at a time when the citizens of Multan were in search of water while carrying water canes in their hands, as the MEPCO had disconnected the electricity connections of WASA over nonpayment of bills, wrote a Facebook user.

A Facebook page, Assembly Media, uploaded the picture and wrote that `The British left behind the people who are determined to set bad examples of governance.

Commissioner Maharaj of Multan is celebrating his birthday while gathering his officers.

Another user, Abdullah, stated that `the public have to wait outside of the closed doors of public servants who are eating cakes.

All the officers of the division are singing birthday songs.

Several social media users also expressed their best wishes on the Commissioner`s birthday.
