THE 220 non-essential posts abolished by the National Assembly amid rightsizing efforts had been lying vacant for over a decade, the NA Secretariat clarified on Sunday.
The statement, issued in response to a report in Dawn from Mar 1, 2025 regarding the assembly`s annual report, stressed that no employees had been fired.
This policy initiative aimed at saving public money as every year budgetary allocations were made against these posts, the statement said.
