Making life harder

2025-03-03
I FIND it an extreme convenience to do my stuff online, but a government app I tried to use recently asked me to visit the relevant offices. I found that funny. What is the point ofhaving an appifit tells people to physically visit the offices? Such a regressive attitude only sparks economic and environmental costs in surprising ways. We have created demand for petrol and its logistics, foreign exchange, road expansions, traffic congestion, air pollution, parking issues, office infrastructure and electricity, clerical staff, paper and pens, technicalsupportfor outdated systems, security personnel, audits, stress management therapists, and even healthcare for pollution-induced illnesses. All this simply because thegovernment wants people to visit the offices.

This is a story of utter governance inefficiency. Every extra mile driven, paper wasted, and hour spent in frustration contributes to a much grander narrative.
