LAHORE: The Pakistan Rugby Union`s (PRU) general council has elected its new office-bearers unopposed for the 2025-2029 term.

Arif Saeed was re-elected as chairman, while Salman Muzaffar Sheikh retained his position as secretary general. Rizwan-ur-Rab Malik, also vicepresident of the Asian Rugby Union, was elected as the new president.

Four vice-presidents Tahira Saleem, Muzammil Khan Wazeeri, Naeem Javed and Mohsin Iqbal Khan were also elected, along with treasurer Haroon Naseem.

The PRU`s executive committee was also formed, comprising seven members: Ms. Raheela, Tariq Khan Niazi, M. Tahir, Umair Tariq, Ms. Qurat-ulAin Haider, Samar Hayat and Hammad Safdar.

Shireen Hina Asghar was elected as the women`s representative.

The general council meeting was attended by representatives from the Pakistan Olympic Association, Pakistan Sports Board and the Asian Rugby Union, the PRU said in a press release.-Sports Reporter
