RAWALPINDI: Six people, including three children, suf fered burn injuries after getting trapped in fire that erupted due to gas leakage in their house located at Ghareebabad area of Chaklala Cantonment early Thursday morning.In his statement, Iqbal Din, 52, one of the victims, said his family was sleeping in the house when gas started to leak in the kitchen.

The house got filled with gas in the night, and when someone switched on the light early in the morning, an explosion occurred. Soon fire broke outandspreadin thehouse.

Following the explosion, the Rescue1122 arrived at the scene and started making efforts to control the fire before it spread to neighbouring houses.

The burn victims were shifted to the Holy Family Hospital (HFH) where they are stated to be in stable condition.

Most of the victims had suffered 40 per cent burns.
