SHEIKHUPURA: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated the newly-constructed model cattle market established at a cost of Rs390 million in the city on Thursday.

Addressing the gathering, mostly of farmers and government officials, the chief minister said the new cattle market was equipped with all the necessary facilities like cattle sheds, boarding and lodging for customers, fodder shops.

He said similar model cattle markets would be constructed in other districts of the province.

The government was trying to raise living standard of farmers` community because it was the backbone of economy, he said, adding the government had recently raised the wheat price for benefits of farmers. Correspondent
