OKARA: Haveli Lakkha Municipal Committee administrator has suspended an enforcement inspector from service after a 10-year-old boy was bitten by a stray dog in the MC limits on the first day of Eid (March 31).

As per officials, on Eid day, a 10-year-old boy was repeatedly bitten by a stray dog in Haveli Lakkha MC limits and was referred to a Lahore hospital for treatment.

After Deputy Commissioner(DC) Ahmad Usman Javid took a strict notice of the incident, Haveli MC administrator Naeem Bashir suspended enforcement inspector Waqar Ahmad from service and issued a show-cause notice to MC Chief Officer Saaduz Zaman and initiated disciplinary action against him for showing negligence.

On April 1, on the directions of Additional Deputy Commissioner Hafiz Omar Tayyab, the MC formed six teams, each comprising two members, for elimination of stray dogs.

The MC administrator had earlier formed five team on Nov 16, 2024, to eliminate stray dogs. Correspondent
