TAXILA: Two notorious outlaws wanted in various heinous crimes were killed in `shootout` with police while their three accomplices escaped in Kannri bridge hills near Bolniwal Road in the limits of Attock Saddar police station during early hours of Tuesday, an Attock police spokesman said.
The police spokesperson claimed that the suspects were killed by their own accomplices during an exchange of fire. Soon after the incident, senior police officers also reached the spot.
The police spokesperson said Hazro police on a tip off raided a house where five notorious outlaws were reportedly hiding.
After noticing the police party`s presence in the area, the outlaws opened fire, subsequently police from Attock Saddar reached as reinforcements and tried to overpower the outlaws; however when firing stopped, police found two of them injured injured.
A search operation was conducted to arrest the fleeing accused. The injured were sent to the hospital for medical treatment but they succumbed to their injuries.
