LANDI KOTAL: Two soldiers were killed in an armed attack on a security checkpost in the remote Tirah valley late on Monday evening.
Official sources said that a group of unidentified gunmen attacked a checkpost in Maidan area of Tirah, killing two troops.
They said that the attackers managed to flee after the incident taking cover of the darkness.
A search operation was later conducted but no one could be arrested.
Meanwhile, an activist of Zakhakhel peace committee was critically wounded when a pickup plunged into a ravine in Ziyarai area of Bazaar Zakhakhel on Tuesday.
Khasadar officials said that the incident was result of over-speeding and that the injured person was shifted to local hospital.
