Abbottabad Commission report to be made public after cabinet`s approval

ABBOTTABAD: Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that the Abbottabad Commission report will be made public after the approval by the federal cabinet.
Speaking at a function of the Abbottabad Electronic Media Association (AEMA), she said the report had raised some sensitiveissues related to national security.
Tall(ing about the report of a committee which investigated the publication of a report in Dawn, she said Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar had clarified the government`s point of view on the report, adding that each and everything had been made public and nothing was hidden.
Ms Aurangzeb said a joint investigation team had been formed on the issue of the Panama Papers and its members would act as per directives and the standard operative procedure (SOP) issued by the Supreme Court and the nation should wait for its outcome.
The stance of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the Panama Papers case had been very clear from day one, she said, adding that the prime minister would acceptthe decision of the court.
The minister said the government would celebrate the 70th Independence Day of the country with national spirit.
Meanwhile, addressing an oathtaking ceremony at the Abbottabad Press Club on Tuesday, Ms Aurangzeb criticised the performance of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and said it should follow the federal and Punjab governments.
She called upon all political forces to support PM Sharif for the development and prosperity of the country and said that because of the right policies of the prime minister the country`s economy had started toturnaround.
She said the KP people had rejected shallow slogans and false claims of good governance by theprovincial government, adding that people wanted a real change.
The minister said a new era of development had begun in the country in which countless mega development projects were being launched.
She said the vision of the prime minister had put the country on the right path.
She said nobody could point the finger at any federal minister for being involved in corruption. She claimed that charges of corruption against seven ministers of the KP government had been reported.
The way the KP government had treated accountability courts was the worst example of poor governance, she added.
Regarding the implementation of the Wage Board Award, the information minister said that adraft bill in consultation with all stakeholders was in final stage and would be tabled in the National Assembly soon.
She said a bill for the safety and protection of journalists and media houses would also be tabled in the assembly.
Earlier, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi addressed the function. He said the KP government was not sincere in the development of the province and had rejected the federal government`s offer to share projects and schemes, especially for the development of infrastructure in Hazara division and construction of the Abbottabad bypass.
Ms Aurangzeb also attended a reception of the Electronic Media Association of Abbottabad.
