Civil judge, lawyer robbed of valuables

FAISALABAD: Two robbers on Sunday night looted a civil judge and a lawyer near Kaleem Shaheed Colony in Razaabad police precincts and made off with a motorcycle, cash and valuables.
Kabirwala Civil Judge/Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Abbas in his complaint to the police said he along with lawyer Mohammad Anwar was on his way home on a motorcycle when two motorcyclists stopped him.
He said the suspects snatched his bike and made off with a cash of Rs 10,000, a mobile phone, service card, credit and ATM cards. The robbers snatched Rs7,000 from Anwar.
The police on Monday night registered a case under Section 392 of the PPC with no arrest.
NEW FESCO HEAD: The Ministry of Water and Power has appointed Mujahid Islam Beallah as the chief executive officer of the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco). Earlier, he was performing his duties as Pepco chief engineer.
The top position in Fesco was vacant after the retirement of Khursheed Aslam who retired a couple of days ago after attaining the age of superannuation.
In the last week of April, in a stop-gap arrangement, the ministry had appointed Nizamuddin Marwat as acting head of Fesco.
Mr Beallah, who also served as Sukkur Electric Supply Company CEO, assumed the charge of his office on Tuesday.
