PESHAWAR: The Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University has decided it will double admission quota for the students from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
The decision was made during the eighth meeting of the university`s academic council held on main campus here on Tuesday.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Razia Sultana chaired the meeting.
A news release issued by the SBBWU said the university had also planned to set up an arts and culture museum on the main campus to promote and preserve culture and history of the region.
The recommendation for the establishment of KP Corner under the Project of KP Art and Culture Museum was also placed in the meeting for submission to the syndicate.
After a through deliberation, the recommendations regarding various academic issues of the university were made by the members for the approval of the syndicate.
The recommendation regarding nominations of membership for the various statutory bodies of the university, including affiliation committee, F and PC and board of faculties were also presented at the meeting.
The proposed establishment of a climate change cell at the university was also placed before the council for further approval of the syndicate in its upcoming meeting, said the release.
