TOBA TEK SINGH: Scores of relatives and friends of 13-year-old kidnapped boy staged a protest on Monday evening at Zila Council Chowk (Faisalabad) against what they said failure of the Razabad police to recover him.

The protesters were car-rying placards inscribed with slogans against police.

Muhammad Nadeem of Kaleem Shaheed Colony No 2 told the media that on April 29, his son Ahmad Mujtaba went to a private swimming pool located in Club Chowk of the locality along with his friends and when they were coming back, two unidentified motorcyclists interceptedthem and started beating them.

Nadeem said one of the bikers introduced himself as a constable of Gulberg police and they allegedly kidnapped his son. He added that four days had passed but police did nothing to recover the child. He claimed that a CCTV camera footage showing the suspects had also been pro-vided to police.

During the demonstration, mother of the child became unconscious and a Rescue 1122 team provided her with first aid.

When contacted Faisalabad city police spokesperson Syed Muneeb Ahsan claimed that raids were being conducted to arrest the suspects and recover the boy.
