SUKKUR: One raiding team has been sent to L ahore and another one to Karachi to hunt down the two undertrial prisoners who had dodged their police escort to escape f rom outside the local Accountability Court a day earlier, a spokesman for the Sukkur police said on Thursday.

Each of the teams is head by a DSP, according to him.

The escort comprising four policemen head constable Wazeer Ahmed and constables Chakar Khan, Ishf aq Ahmed and Abdul Rasheed have been suspended and booked at the Abad police station for showing negligence.

The UTPs, Zia Nadeem and Afzal, had been arrested about a year ago for impersonating NAB of ficers.

The spokesman said the suspects` two alleged facilitators in the escape were also arrested for providing them a motorcycle and a mobile phone.-Correspondent
