GDA`s jurisdiction to be limited to Galiyat

HARIPUR: Federal minister for parliamentary affairs Murtaza Javed Abbasi on Friday said the jurisdiction of the Galiyat Development Authority would soon be limited to Galiyat area.

Addressing the ceremony of inaugurating a 132KV grid station in Khanpur area here, the minister said Khanpur`s stone crushing units were harming the environment, so he would take up the issue in the National Assembly for effective action.

He criticised the last PTI government for allowing stone crushingin the area andinsisted that the activity was damaging the environment and people`s health.

The minister announced Rs10 million for the construction of the Julian Overhead Bridge and Rs5 million for the launch of ambulance service in Khanpur and said that emergency service would be available to the residents within a month.

He said his party, PML-N, would form the next government in the country after sweeping general elections.

Mr Abbasi criticised former prime minister and PTI chairman Imran Khan for `trying to harm the country by following the enemy`s agenda.

`Imran Khan is pursuing the agenda of anti-Pakistan elements as revealed by the May 9-10 riots,` he alleged.

PML-N provincial president and adviser to the prime minister Amir Muqam, who was also in attendance, said only his party was capable of steering the country out of economic crisis for its true development.

He said the PML-N would continue working for the development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially Hazara division.

Mr Muqam criticised former prime minister Imran Khan over his `evil designs` and alleged that the PTI chairman was an agent of Israel.

He said the Pakistan Army behaved sensibly on May 9 and 10 to prevent bloodshed as planned by the PTI through riots.

The PML-N leader said Mr Imran was taken into custody for committing Rs60 billion corruption but his party`s activists torched the Jinnah House, Radio Pakistan building and ransacked government and military buildings.

He urged his party`s workers to forge unity and rope in more and more people.

Earlier, Mr Abbasi and Mr Muqam performed the groundbreaking of a 132kv grid station in Hattar`s Tareenabad area.
