QUETTA: The family of a 15-year-old boy, who has been missing for over two days, has appealed to the Balochistan chief minister and human rights organisations for his immediate recovery.

They made the appeal at a press conference here on Monday. According to the family, Bahram Wahid, a grade 10 student, had come to Quetta for education and extracurricular activities. He was taken away allegedly by security personnel on the night of May 30 from Essa Nagri.

`Bahram is a 15-year-old child engaged in academic and sports activities. If there is any suspicion or allegation against him, the legal course should be followed by producing him before a court,` the family implored.

They stressed that forcibly disappearing a minor is a violation of his basic human right to life and liberty.

They said they have been living in anguish and psychological trauma since the incident. `We are not only worried about his future but also about his life and safety.

Calling on state institutions, the Balochistan government and national and international human rights bodies, the family demanded Bahram be brought to light and that justice be served through legal means if any wrongdoing is alleged. They urged the authorities to ensure Mr Wahid`s safety and to respect the rule of law and constitutional rights.
