BRIDGE: The muchanticipated TaunsaLayyah bridge, constructed during the last tenure of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, remains non-functional due to the project`s incomplete status.

Despite significant progress made under the PML-N government, the succeeding PTI administration failed to complete the remaining work.

Once operational, the bridge is expected to significantly improve connectivity between Taunsa and Layyah, boosting economic activity in both regions. However, the lack of access roads and the uncompleted realignment of the river flow toward the bridge have delayed its opening.

Currently, local residents continue to rely on boats to cross the river, enduring daily hardships.
