LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab claimed to have arrested a member of the proscribed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and lodged a case against him.
A spokesperson for the CTD said various teams of the department carried out 32 intelligence-based operations across the province and interrogated as many suspects.
Of them, he said, the police arrested TTP man namely Muhammad Kamal and lodged a case against him in Multan.
The police recovered from them pamphlets, flag and stickers of the banned organisation besides some cash amount, he said.
Furthermore, 479 combing operations were also conducted with the help of local police and other law-enforcement agencies across Punjab.
During these operations, 17,396 people were checked, 25 suspects arrested and 21 FIRs were registered, the CTD spokesperson said.-Staff Reporter
