ISLAMABAD: A robbersgang shot and injured a man during a robbery on G.T Road in the limits of Sangjani police station, police said on Tuesday adding the injured was identified as Agiab Javaid.

A case was registered with the police station under section 394 of PPC (Voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) in response to the complaint lodged by Mr Javaid, a salesman by profession.

The incident took place when he was heading towards Dhok Paracha in a vehicle, after delivering supplies at various stores and shops, the police said, adding that two robbers came on a motorcycle and tried to to intercept him at the G.T Road, but, he did not stop.

One of the motorcycle riders fired on him and as a result he sustained a bullet injury in his leg and the vehicle was stopped, they said, adding that the riders held him up at gunpoint and looted Rs125,000 cashand escaped. Staff Reporter
