WASHINGTON: Pakistan`s growing strategic engagement with the US continued this week with the visit of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, who met senior American military and political leaders.
The visit the first by a sitting air chief in over a decade comes on the heels of Field Marshal Asim Munir`s trip to Washington last month.
During his engagements at the Pentagon, the air chief met with Kelli L. Seybolt, the USAF Secretary for International Affairs, and General David W. Allvin, Chief of Staff of the US Air Force. At the State Dept, he met Brown L.
Stanley of the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs and Eric Meyer of the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs.
On Capitol Hill, the air chief met key lawmakers including Congressmen Mike Turner, Rich McCormick and Bill Huizenga. -Anwar Iqbal
