Three held for robbery

ISLAMABAD: Three persons working in a house were arrested by the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the capital police on the charge of robbery, police said on Tuesday.

Group Captain Muneer complained to the police on May 25, 2016, about a robbery in his house at Bahria Town Phase-HL The complainant said he and his wife were not present in the house when the incident took place.

He said the couple working in his house called and informed him that robbers had looted the house at gunpoint.

A team was constituted under the supervision of SP (investigation) Mohammad Ilyas which traced the sus-pects.

During the investigation, it transpired that the couple was actually involved in the robbery.

The accused told the investigators that they looted the house in connivance with an accomplice.

The accomplice of the coupie was also arrested.

The police claimed to have recovered the looted items, including diamond, gold and silver jewellery, cash, electrical appliances and other valuables.

The accused also confessed to their involvement in a theft in the house of Flight Lt Zeeshan Ahmed over which a case had already been registered in the Industrial Area police station.

Further investigation is underway, said the police.
