LAHORE: A technical fault at the Bund Road Grid Station kept many areas of the city without electricity for more than 12 hours.
Officials of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) were able to energise the grid station by Tuesday noon.
The grid developed a fault at 1.25am on Tuesday when the main transmission line fell on 132Kv lines, taking down feeders feeding localities such as Riwaz Garden and Gulshani-Ravi and some parts of Multan Road.
Though Lesco officials says they were able to energise grids from alternative sources within 25 minutes, all affected feeders could not be restored till 11am after almost 10 hours.
`It was just a technical fault but the inconvenience was huge for consumers in many areas of the city,` admits an official of Lesco.
Abdul Khaleeq, a resident of Gulshan-iRavi, said this was the third major fault in the grid station in recent days.
`This is a maintenance issue which remains unresolved because of wrong priorities of the people running the utility,` he lamented.Staff Reporter
